A non-profit organization since 1976, dedicated to the rehabilitation and preservation of the Quitman House. The Quitman House is also home to two other non-profit organizations: the Museum of Rhinebeck HIstory and Hudson River Heritage.

The Palatine Farmstead
located at
6912 Route 9 Rhinebeck,
The farmstead is the current focus of preservation by the Rhinebeck (Quitman) Resource Center for Preservation, Inc. In July of 2022, the Rhinebeck (Quitman) Resource Center for Preservation, Inc. received as a gift, one of Rhinebeck's earliest properties associated with the 1710 German Palatine immigration to the Hudson River Valley. The QRC is the lead agency for a coalition of preservation organizations who have undertaken the restoration of this 1727-1840 Farmstead. The last resident was a member of the Elseffer family who had purchased the property seven generations earlier in 1762 from Franz Neher, the original owner. The site, including the 1770 Dutch barn, was listed on the State and National Register of Historic Properties in April 2003.

The Consortium database website
found at
was the brainchild of the Rhinebeck (Quitman) Resource Center for Preservation, Inc. in 1994.
Thirteen (13) local organizations were invited to share their archives via the website database for the benefit of the public. This website has been a wonderful resource for the public over the years. While many of these organizations now have their own websites with their individual archives, it's really beneficial to gather them all on one site with an easy search feature. A few organizations are still sharing additional important local original source items on this collective website. We are very grateful for our longtime volunteer Steve Hubbert for donating his time and expertise to provide this important database.
